French Kiss
Description
Watching young couples passionately kiss in public places can be funny—or even uncomfortable—for some people. Today’s youth feel increasingly at ease expressing intimacy in public settings. Experiencing this almost daily inspired the author to create an architectural project that interprets an intimate moment through conceptual design.
Concept
A French kiss is a different kind of kiss—one that speaks to passion and connection. This intensity alone was enough to be captured in a model titled French Kiss. The concept aims to express this moment using form, material, and a symbolic bridge between two individuals, all within the context of conceptual architecture.
Design Elements
Two Buildings: These structures, made of small mirrored squares, stand next to each other with an effect that feels like “buzzing from love,” achieved through reflective, light-catching materials. The buildings are intentionally ungendered, reflecting equal rights and inclusivity in all couples.
Bridge: The link between people—in this case, a passionate kiss—is represented by two trees growing toward each other, their branches intertwining at the centre of the bridge. This gesture symbolizes a strong emotional and physical connection. Beneath the trees, a circular bridge with a dark interior invites visitors to feel as though they are stepping into the intimate space of a kiss, transforming a private moment into a shared, immersive experience.
